After several weeks of evaluating the bids, it was finally to Oversee Advising Group that CFI chose to award the contract for the external final evaluation of the regional FSPI project "MEKONG INFO DURABLE".
At a time of the globalization of information and social networks, journalists have a role to play in the transformation of our society. By shedding light on the challenges of sustainable development, their analyzes provide new keys to understanding the world. However, their professions are in full evolution and new forms of communication are emerging thanks to a constructive exchange between journalists and the public (eg: participatory media). Indeed, the concept of sustainable development was born from the awareness of the fragility of the environment. After the Vietnam War, many environmental movements emerged to challenge the use of chemicals, then, repeated environmental crises led to questioning the consideration of the environment and ecology. According to a recently released report by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the media have played a central role over the past 30 years in shaping and communicating the emerging sustainable development agenda. Journalists use everyday situations to produce information, and when faced with problems, they collect the information, analyze it and disseminate it. They have become important actors in the achievement of the SDGs for certain countries, notably: Slovenia, Turkey and Venezuela. As a result, it therefore seems crucial to bring journalists up to speed with globalization in relation to sustainable development. According to the UNESCO report on the training of journalists for sustainable development (2009), it is proposed to explain to journalists how to integrate sustainable development into their journalistic productions. It shows by example how to go about successfully integrating it into a conference or journalistic production.
