Oversee Advising Group has completed the Psychological First Aid (PFA) Training of Trainers in Malawi in the context of The Spotlight Initiative. This initiative aim to promote and protect human rights, with key programming principles focusing on equality and non-discrimination and participation and inclusion.
The objectives of the PFA was:
- To define Psychological First Aid (PFA)
- To understand the rationale behind its use
- To clarify when it is used and the roles of those who provide PFA
- To learn, practice and be able to apply the basic principles involved in PFA
- To discuss and understand the importance of Self-care
Public health means to achieve the greatest good for the most people in a way that is effective and efficient. It means not just looking at one person at the time but one population at a time and to think about how to make best use of resources and how to strengthen resources to have a positive impact on the mental health and well-being of everyone.
Oversee Advising Group trainned on Psychological First Aid trainers from the 6 districts within the Spotlight initiative districts that will be able to disseminate the knowledge in their communities.
